My three children and I once drove through a little town in Eastern Kansas. It had two water towers. Instead of having the town's name on the water towers, one simply read “HOT.” The other tower was labeled “COLD.”

Our mission is to serve our immediate church family, as well as provide outreach to the community for individuals and families who are in need of basic clothing items due to financial need or some type of crisis situation.

The sanctuary at Valley Center Christian Church underwent quite a transformation Sunday night; in fact, it looked more like a factory with rows of assembly lines than a sanctuary. Church members gathered to help package meals for the organization Numana, which sends food to countries in need. Volunteers dumped rice, beans and other food products into plastic bags, which were then sealed and placed into a box for shipping.

Josh and his half-brother, Sammy, were introduced to our youth group at Church because their father didn't know what else to do with them. Josh was nine, and in trouble at school and at home. There was no mom in the picture for either of the boys.

Every Sunday at VCCC is a good Sunday, but Sunday, November 20, was a great day in the Lord. It was such a joy to participate in the ordination of Chris and Mary Moon. It brought back so many memories to me, of my own ordination. I was 32 years old, and so honored to be ordained into the ministry of Jesus Christ. I know that Chris and Mary feel the same way. The extended Moon family worshipped with us, and that made the day all the more special. It was a delight to have Chris and Mary's children join us on the stage for a picture to commemorate the occasion.

Hello everybody! I tried to think of an introduction of myself and our family, but since we know so many of you so well, we probably don't need much of an introduction. We are very excited to be allowed to serve in this way with our church. As most of you know, I've been asked to serve as associate pastor at VCCC, focusing on youth programs. I'm looking forward to getting to know the young people of our church that much better! |
